[...] X-Men: The Last Stand really got us going though. I remember liking this one and I am definitely looking forward picking this one up for the collection and watching them together over a weekend. I did this recently with the Austin Powers *trilogy* and it was fun. While Brett Ratner doesn’t quite have the same thing going as Bryan Singer does, it was still a good flick and I’m fairly certain my review reflects that. Notice I am linking back to them, but not actually reading them. Feel free to do the same as I’m sure there’s a good chance you haven’t even read this far… [...]

[...] Anyway, you can read all about the flick and receive proper reviews at Jason and Sean’s sites. In fact, if you are interested in engaging in this discussion, I urge you to pop over there, read their pieces, and then pop back here as all I’m doing is pretty much adding to the discussion already started by my compadres. Don’t worry, wherever you go, what ever you do, I’ll still be right here waiting for you - all Richard Marx style!!! [...]

I echo your sentiments on the Phoenix storyline. While it features heavily in my favorite scene in the flick (the return to Jean Grey's house), it really should have been saved for the next film.

There's too much incident crammed into this flick. The 'cure' is all you need for a dramatic conflict. More on this over at The Ed Zone - coming soon.

Kitty Pryde/Ellen Page was definitely the standout newcomer in the film. The actress did a great job, and I liked her more in fifteen minutes of screentime than I did with Rogue/Paquin throughout all three films. And yeah, she's cute...though definitely a bit young.

I didn't know until after I saw the movie about the whole <a href="http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=15862" rel="nofollow">"I'm the juggernaut, bitch" (NSFW)</a> Internet phenomenon (apparently that's why it was included in the film). I can say that the entire theater erupted at that line, and now I know why.
