I will say, my experience was different than the Ronster's. It probably makes a difference not having responsibility outside yourself and your (former) live-in GF. I found that I got way more work done at home because people were less likely to call me there than stop by my desk when in the office. Oh, and then there is the time saved not showering... Several years later - the technology is there - but the companies don't seem to be adopting it. In my opinion, jobs like yours are the perfect occupations to offer this choice.
