I wouldn't count out Old Republic ending up on consoles. Microsoft has been spending mad resources behind the scenes looking to lock up WoW or some other MMO for the system. With KOTOR being a huge hit on the first XBox, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't after EA and Bioware. Plus, there is some precedent with Bioware. 2 years ago Dragon Age was announced as a PC exclusive - and yet, the PC and console versions released day and date. Watch this year's E3 (June) and I am almost guaranteeing an Old Republic announcement from MS. Mark my words.

@Ed: Yeah, Elvis was quite the douche bag and I agree, the ending was well done. I won't make the same mistake in playing sandbox games back-to-back again. It definitely lessened the experience of both.

@Jay: That's one of the things I wish they'd figure out for the console; how to get that community gaming experience right. Only thing really out there is to do multiplayer Halo or Modern Warfare, etc. and I don't like that for very long unless it were more community based/oriented. Harder to make random friends in that style and I don't have enough real friends out there to make it worthwhile. I thought they were making the new Knights of the Republic game for the console, but I guess not. Maybe I will pick that up for the PC though.

The open sandbox games cannot be played one after another due to the repetition you named. It's funny that they are billed as "do whatever you want" but in a way they end up feeling more predictable than scripted games. Nature of the beast, I guess.

As for inFamous - that game easily featured the biggest loser in any game I've played in the last 10 years. Not only was Zeke a whiny douche, he also ends up causing another catastrophe. That being said - it did have a cool twist at the end.

We got Up but it's not BluRay. It came free from Disney as a reward for procuring some princess costumes and all they offered was DVD.

And yeah - I hated GI Joe. I actually fast forwarded through the 2nd half to see if there was anything I wanted to watch but it just seemed like crazy, over the top action and effects but boring. I know the Transformers flicks are the same formula but they didn't bore me as much as this flick did. To each his own, I guess.

Either way - they both pale in comparison to something as awesome as Avatar. That's also wall to wall effects but in service of a story, that while familiar, is also pretty epic and exciting.

Hated it? That is pretty strong. I guess you didn't like the Kung Fu grip or knowing is half the battle quips! There is a lot to groan about in Bay's Transformer flicks too. Honestly, I feel they aren't that far apart from one another. At least this one had two better looking women than Megan Fox and Shia Lebouf. C'mon, it has Mr. Eko too!

I keep meaning to ask if you got the kids Up on Blu-ray for Xmas... I assume yes and would love to watch with them like we did Wall-E last year.

I HATED G.I. Joe. As much as people knock Bay for his Transformers flicks, at least they are somehwat entertaining. GI Joe just left me groaning most of the time.

As for Up, you know how I feel about that flick but just to show that Pixar can do no wrong, they took a movie starring an octogenerian and made it one of the more exciting flicks of the year. Great, great movie!!!

Love the shots. Me being on the CT border, we had some brilliant looks at that Blue Moon when I was heading out to drop the kids at their babysitters for the evening but you did an awesome job capturing something that only comes around once in a... well, you get the idea.

And here's hoping that good mojo gets spread everywhere.

I agree. I had the sense after a while that that was where they were going to end up. However, it was still quite powerful when they did arrive, etc. Just very well done. For the record, I almost gave it five stars, but there were some small things that bugged me about it (at the time). I can't quite put my finger on them right now though.

What about Supes and Bats? I know you saw that one too.
