I’m not gonna lie… it felt weird to not have a new Office or 30 Rock this week. I feel like my Facebook status was sad because it couldn’t be filled with a good line last Thursday night. Looks like NBC will make up for it by giving us two episodes of The Office this week so they can make a nice Parks and Recreation sandwich.

Chuck: I forgot to applaud the Brian K. Vaughan shoutout in last week’s epsiode. Chuck was using an issue or trade of Ex Machina to hide his reading of the Intersect plans provided by Orion. This week he was at it again, but there was also a Y: The Last Man poster on the wall behind him. Oh, and then also a Camel (Programming Perl) book. Um… oh, so all that nerdery aside, Tricia Helfer appears as an agent trying to give Sarah the boot. She was pretty good I guess, but in the end, Sarah and Chuck prove they are better off together than apart. This next one should be good with Chevy Chase and Scott Bakula.

Big Bang Theory: Another building hotty moves in upstairs from the boys and Penny feels the pain. It was actually nice to see her stick up for the guys once she realized what this girl was doing. Also funny to see Sheldon so blissfully ignorant to all of it except for his fears about how much noise the girl would make above them. His line about her jumping on the bed was sweet.

How I Met Your Mother: Other than the excellent work in of Lethal Weapon, this epsiode was pretty lame. The Marshall coaching experiment was dreadful and the Murtaugh list slash anti-Murtaugh list competition was kinda lame for the most part.

Reaper: The undead father thing is just creeping me out a bit now. Seems like a variable they didn’t need to introduce and if I am Sam and in the spot I am in because of this guy, I’d maybe take his head off to punish him. Okay, maybe just a finger. Looks like the other son of the devil they introduced last week may become semi-recurring. The guy is a tool. Probably in real life too. Sock’s obsession with his step sister is getting especially creepy now that he almost went a chemical castration route to calm his libido.

My Boys: Let’s just forget all the Bobby wedding stuff because you knew that was going to happen. The best part of this was the molestache growing competition and all the excellent sniping centered around it. That’s what this show is all about. These guys busting on each other all the time. Kenny’s American Chopper stache was pretty damn good. He gets my vote. Brando’s railroad-damsel-in-distress-villain stache was a good second. Mike just looked ridiculous, but that’s his gig.

Scrubs: Turk, Elliot and the interns. That’s it. No J.D. No Cox. No Carla. No Janitor. Okay… The Todd was there. It didn’t suck but it wasn’t great either. Turk and Elliot chemistry isn’t that great. Except for the dancing part. The jungle fever was unexpected too. Or was it? Denise’s line to him about his crush on himself was great.

Better Off Ted: Ah… okay, so we are gonna go with the single Dad doesn’t want his daughter to get hurt route huh? Should have stuck with the can’t have a second office romance one. It is funnier and original. Anyway, once again, Portia de Rossi steals the show with her leveraging Ted’s daughter to do some dirty work, like firing two guys pulling hazmat alarms for extended coffee break purposes. The nursery exploitation of the other children was pretty funny too, but the best part of this show might be the fake ads for Veridian Dynamics that they show at the start, or in this week’s case, in the middle.

Lost: I was going to go with make-up and awesome hair Kate, but since the episode aired I have changed my mind and am going to go with Cassidy. Just to be different. Real episode comments are over on The Ed Zone post.

Life on Mars: As promised, I watched the series finale and found it quite satisfying even though I missed six or so episodes in the middle there. I ended up writing a little bit about it in the comments of the Lost post above, but suffice to say, the show should have done better than it did. I wonder if it would have done better if paired with Lost all season?

Smallville: I like that they brought in Tess and she’s just so much smarter about all the Traveler stuff than the Luthor’s ever seemed to be. Of course, she has the benefit of their experiences, but still. I was pretty sure the kryptonite wasn’t going to kill Doomsday because wasn’t he exposed to it earlier in the season and there was no effect? Chloe locking herself in the basement with him at the end there was an interesting choice. She’s serious about doing the things Clark won’t do to protect himself from his enemies or really wants to make up for dissing Jimmy so bad.

Friday Night Lights: Wow, what a game! I’m not sure it really goes down like that, but I guess it is high school ball, so anything is possible. Riggins leaving his cleats on the field at the end was a nice touch, but I don’t know that anyone was buying coach’s speech. Tyra’s essay was awesome! I liked the conversation between her and Landry as she drove him to Austin. How the Street injury awoke her from the dead-end path she was on. Kind of sad that next week is the season finale, but at least it is a season finale and not a series finale. It was announced earlier in the week that it has been picked up for two more seasons with the same DirecTV first and NBC second deal as this year. Touchdown!

Dollhouse: We find out a little more about why other dolls are in da house besides Caroline/Echo. I found this treatment/test to be very clever, but now wonder how it goes going forward. Will they start to regress again or is now up to Agent Ballard to crack the case with call Caroline made plus the help of the inside person? I guess we’ll see more that next episode with management finding out there is a fox in the henhouse. Err… dollhouse.
