ATHF: “Hand Banana” and “Dickesode”

Hand Banana from Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Last night I finally got all caught up on the TV that recorded while away in Cali. That included the two new episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I missed the first since the fancy hotel TV didn’t have Cartoon Network on the menu.

Anyway, they were both so totally over-the-top and disgusting. I loved it. Carl gets totally victimized in both. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’ll bet they are both over on YouTube, so you may want to do yourself a favor and check them out.

Do it at work if you feel like getting fired.

Happy Halloween

J.D. and the dude from CastawayNothing like posting a Happy Halloween post about an hour before the day is over, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes. If I wasn’t a major sleepaholic or I was a major slacker at work, I could have either gotten up earlier this morning and posted or posted while at work, but since I am and I am not, you get this now.

Makes perfect sense, right? You better read that again…

Anyway, I wanted to post a photo of my Halloween costume this year because I was so happy to have had one in a while. Okay, so that is a lie. You can see my last one from 2003, which is or isn’t a while, over on Ed’s blog (he was Tom Hanks from Castaway again, which is still a kick ass costume three years later). I don’t know if I can consider me as Affleck a costume since he seems indicate I dressed as... Continue reading »

Californication

Fog rolling in on Big SurThe first photo set from my recent trip to California is up. It chronicles a little too long trip down Highway 1 thru the Big Sur area. I had done this trip as a kid in a Crown Vic rental car loaded up with three adults and three kids and still had fond memories. Noelle and I didn’t make it past Monterey when we were out two years ago, so it was number one on my priority list for this time.

After seeing a lot of good stuff in the beginning, I went too far down and should have turned around earlier, but I kept thinking I’d eventually see something worthwhile, besides I had nothing else to do after a certain point in time. I think that is called the point-of-no-return. Anyway, I got elephant seals sleeping... Continue reading »

Eddie Izzard off 24

It sucked to read in last week’s Entertainment Weekly that Eddie Izzard won’t be appearing on 24 this season after all. I’m not so sure I’ll be able to force myself to watch it this season. I guess I’ll still try it out, but I bet I don’t last more than five episodes before dropping it. That was my M.O. the first three seasons, so I don’t see how it could change with this news.

Yes, I am one of those people that doesn’t dig 24 despite how many people tell me how much it rocks. Get over it. I also don’t like House or Prison Break either.

You know what? I just don’t like Fox shows I guess…

Heroes: Hiro’s

D.L. does Shadowcat in the Heroes mini-comic

Well, after sitting on two flights of six and five — the jetstream kicks ass! — hours for my trip to and fro Cali, I sure do wish I had Nathan’s power of flight. That evil, corrupt bastard sure can move like a mothafu… you get the point.

His power is a lot more impressive than what we’ve seen before. He shot straight up and turned on a dime to leave a vapor shockwave and boom, which indicates breaking the speed of sound from a standstill. However, he can still hurt his feeties when he lands, so something is protecting him while moving at speed or the air friction would shred his skin away.

Yeah, I know, this is deeper than I need to go with this, but I do read comics.

You have to wonder what his range is though as... Continue reading »

Tellyman 10.3

Dwight and Ryan from The Office: Initiation

I am quite a few days late with this, but my excuse is I didn’t want to be a total dork and blog on my *vacation.* I guess I could have blogged this stuff on Monday or Tuesday, since technically, they were work days, but I figured I would rather get out into the city and do my best to get mugged or something. It didn’t happen.

I did meet a real nice girl in the Red Light District though. She was tall and had a deep voice and a hint of five o’clock shadow under her caked on foundation. Wait a minute, did I say RLD? I meant Ghirardelli Square. She was working the candy checkout counter. I suspect she was a he, but she/he/it sure did look purrdy from a distance. I’m not even kidding.

Well, on to the regular scheduled programming. I actually caught up on my flight out to Oakland by watching the previous night’s Earl, Office and Smallville on my iPod. It worked out pretty well, except I think I sca... Continue reading »

I’m Going Back to Cali

…to Cali, to Cali. I think so!

My posting of my photos back in August from my last trip to California under that title has proven to be prophetic. I am indeed flying out to San Francisco today for a long weekend of personal time and two days of bidniz.

What does that mean to you? Not much except that I will be posting more photos of the same shiznit for you, just newer…

For now, enjoy some Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween.

A.T.H.F.

Ignignokt and Err

All you need to do for me is tune into Cartoon Network [adult swim] this Sunday night at 10.30 pm EDT to watch the season premiere of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It will take 15 minutes of your life, but it will be worth it. Trust me.

Need more convincing?

Okay, the first episode is titled “Dickesode” and the second one next week is named “Hand Banana.” If you find either of those titles offensive, then you need to watch and get over yourself.

Stupid Is As Wynn Does

Steve Wynn blows $139 million with his elbow. Want more inside scoop? Check Nora Ephron’s blog post about it.

This isn’t something I would normally post about, but Noelle sent me the link to the story tonight and it got me thinking. This kind of thing is proof to me that no normal person, billionaire or otherwise, should be trusted to own precious works of art. Well, they can own them, but please put them in museums so that we can all enjoy them.

It will have a nice side effect of protection from stupidity.

Heroes: Collision

Claire Bennet from the Heroes mini-comic

Since this is two weeks in a row, maybe I should just plan on getting this out on Wednesday night and if I should have it done on Tuesday night, bonus for you. Before I jump in to my thoughts on the episode, make sure you check out this week’s mini-comic, from which the image above is borrowed. I happened to accidentally click on the first panel and lo and behold, a Claire Bennet MySpace page loads up. Has Google bought it yet?

I have watched this episode twice and it turns out I didn’t really need to do it, but it was still enjoyable the second time around. Speaking of which, and this is the last aside,... Continue reading »
