Lost: There’s No Place Like Home
So, to echo the end of my comments on Ed’s excellent (as always) post on his site:
Overall, loved this episode. Thought it was really well done in connecting some dots and opening up some new questions. Strike be damned, this season was very, very strong.
It is going to be a long wait for next season.
Oh… hands down: Kate.
Lost and found
I fell behind on watching Lost again, so I caught up by watching the last three episodes in a row last week. I watched the previous two prior to being able to watch last week’s live in HD, so it was a marathon viewing to be sure. In fact, they all blended together quickly on me.
Anyway, for much the same reason I was behind on watching, I was behind on reading Ed’s blog posts and I just now finally had the chance to catch up over there. (Thank you vacation day!) In fact, it wasn’t just that but almost a handful of other posts too. My man is definitely over that writer’s block.
That said, I’m going to break from doing a single aside for each epsiode’s comments here in favor of this single wrap-up. Besides, I don’t want to have to keep saying how hot Kate is in each. I mean, she came back huge on me with those flash forwards… I mean, the dress-shirt-as-jammies thing does it every time, you know? We men are such easy creatures…
Enough of the (wearing thin) joking around, here are the links:
- Something Nice Back Home
- Cabin Fever (I am talking out my ass on this one)
- There’s No Place Like Home
Looking forward to the finale, but also sad to know that’s it for a while. Will it keep us talking over the Summer and Fall? Based on how it has been going, how would it not? These guy’s are too good…
No-no
Wow!
…
I mean… WOW!
This kid is special, right? Completes the sweep for the second Sox Series and now a no hitter. Wow!
Inspiring stuff. Really. It is hard to come up with the words.
I wish I got to see it. I didn’t watch the game tonight. In fact, I haven’t seen any of the four no-hitters that Varitek has caught. Apparently that’s a record too. However, I did see the first MLB starts for the last two guy’s; Lester and Buchholz. That’s a weird coincidence.
I know someone who had tickets to tonight’s game and decided to sell them because he had already been to like four games in April. Can’t wait to see his reaction. At least he sold them to another guy at work.
Wow!
Shiny bits
At long last, here are the shiny bits.
I know, it is plain, but not as plain as what came before it, right?
Well, this is pretty much all the shine that is going to be around here. I’m going to move on to some feature bits. In fact, the reason getting the shiny bits out here took a little longer was due to taking a feature bit out as I didn’t feel it was quite ready yet. (Oh, and working a lot.)
Anyway, I won’t be working quite as crazily as I have been lately, so now I’ll feel up to coding a bit when I get home at a reasonable hour. Oh, and that means I can catch up on telly too. And Xbox. And comics (really!). And blogging.
You’ve heard this before. I know.
You don’t believe me. I know.
I can tell this because many have stopped dropping by as of late. I don’t blame you. Why would stop by if I’m not, right? Conti... Continue reading »
Lost: The Shape of Things to Come
Yeah, one may wonder if my lack of blogging over April had anything to do with Lost not being on… well, you’d be wrong. It wasn’t that in as much as it was me not wanting to spend time writing until the Shiny Bits were done and being very, very busy at work these last 3+ weeks.
Well, the bits are just about there, as in you’ll see them by Monday, and I have a lot of writing to do once they are out there, but in the meantime, I had to post this aside about last week’s episode of Lost since I just read Ed’s post and left my comments there.
Anyway, easily the best episode of the year and, perhaps, the series!
(Oh, and Claire looked hot after getting blowed up.)
Another bloganniversary
OB1og +2
It doesn’t seem like I have been doing this for two years, but yeah, there it is. Today marks the start of my third year of blogging in the tubes. I guess, maybe I am clogging the tubes. Never mind.
I felt I needed to put something out here to mark the occasion, only, this isn’t it.
What what what?
Yeah, this isn’t it. I meant to have a bright new design up here today, but work and sleep conspired against me and I just couldn’t finish it enough to put out here. I have a good amount of the shiny bits done, but I am way behind on the new bits. The new bits are going to have to be rolled out over time, so no worries.
I guess, what I want to avoid is what happened with this space last year in that I started on a live redesign and didn’t keep on doing it. Sure, I made little changes here and there, but overall,... Continue reading »
Spambino ale
I prefer my April Fool’s jokes to be something that actually fools people, or rather, me, but that can be pretty hard when you read everything on the day with a grain of salt. That said, some are better than others in trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Anyway, I wasn’t going to follow up my previous aside with anything when I wrote it, but after a night of drinking tonight, I feel the need. So, let me start with what I culled from the internets today, and believe me, I wasn’t looking real hard, or really, at all…
- Google has a joint venture with Virgin to colonize Mars in an open source way named Virgle
- Gmail has a cool new feature to send e-mail back in time called Custom Time
- Closer to home, Poe Ghostal had a less obvious gag — I liked it even if he... Continue reading »
ATHF: Fruits
+4
So, I think it just takes the Dave and Matt a handful of episodes to hit their stride because they have been on a roll. Born Again drug addict fruit. Shake flipping us off at least twice (in the background). Carl with a tie. Yup, it is all there for the taking…
Frisky
As in Dingo. Frisky Dingo.
It means nothing to do with the show. Which is funny, right? Yes.
I was gonna steal “Frisky Business” from this week’s Entertainment Weekly sidelight… um, blurb(?)… well whatever, it is under “Critic’s Corner” in the DVD section and written by Ken Tucker (I’m assuming that’s who KT is… which the on-line version confirms). Phew… but I didn’t.
Anyway, this is validation, no? I love that he gives Dingo a straight “A” and with this to back me up, I will again beg you to watch this show! Eleven minutes people! That’s it. These are quick things. Program your DVR to record them and enjoy at your leasure. Continue reading »

RRoD
Another one bites the dust.
At first, I thought The Simpsons Game was just glitching when Lisa blew a Saxophone attack and Marge was coming back to health. Then, it froze again on another big, loud event a minute after I started playing again. That was an exploding car. The third time happened about 10 seconds after I fired it up. The fourth power on was greeted with the Red Ring of Death.
Apparently this animal is not in danger of extinction.
Now, the current system was *manufactured* on 2007-08-23, therefore it has the older 90nm Zephyr chipset. It was the replacement for my first Red-ringed 360 last Fall. I have no idea what will be sent back this time, so tomorrow, I am going out to buy a Xbox 360 Arcade system. No, I am not playing GTA IV, I am playing The Simpsons Game (the one that revolves around Marge’s quest against an Itchy and Scratchy game of the same genre 😉 ) and Army of Two (with Ed) at the moment, but I am not waiting 3-4 weeks for a replacement...
