Robot Chicken Star Wars

Robot Chicken Star Wars Parody

I don’t troll YouTube looking for shiznit that makes me blow milk thru my nose. I’ll leave that to JPo and JDo. What I do is read other bloggers that do and steal their linkage. I’ve watched parts of Robot Chicken a few times and it is hit or miss. This one is a hit, so make sure you watch it to the end for the good stuff.

If there was any doubt…

…it should be long gone now. The Sox are still in Oakland, but the three most lethal bats — Oritiz, Manny and Wily Mo — are all in Boston. Wells is being shopped to the N.L. Nixon, Gonzo and Tek are going to start rehabs, but don’t get your hopes up with that.

Stick a spork in them. They are done.

Red State Stupidity

I have been thinking about this since I read it yesterday. How dumb are these Red Staters? They go into a Dunkie and want doughnuts? What kind of Homer J. Simpson… er, yeah, he likey doughnuts.

Anyway, some of these people are *cultured* enough to drink a coffee from the Starbies across the street, but they have to be transplants, just not from the Northeast.

Still, makes you wonder if this will catch on down there. I don’t think they are changing the name to Dunkin Coffee for you to get it Cletus…

9 – 1 = 8

And just like that, our little Solar System shrank from 9 planets to 8. As I previously stated in Planet X, I find this decision to be the better of the two.

However, I find it a little disconcerting that out of 2,500 of these dweebs attending this conference; only 300 voted on this. Do they take this seriously or not? Are they going to keep changing their minds?

The only other body with that kind of ratio is probably Congress…

I am sick of all these Web 2.0 style logos and buttons and such, so I am happy to see someone poke a little fun at it by writing an image generator. Go ahead and generate your own…

Gammons at Fenway

Leave it to a Sox/Spanks series to bring Peter Gammons back into the baseball fold. This tidbit of information comes courtesy of boston.com sports blogger Eric Wilbur who is looking correct in his previous statement that he’s thrown in the towel. It’s too bad that Gammons’ presence couldn’t bring his preseason A.L. Cy Young pick Josh Beckett better luck on the mound today. Personally, it has less to do with luck than his lack of a quality third pitch, but that’s just me.

Anyway, good to hear Peter is back at the park. UPDATE: Here’s a better AP article on espn.com.

Planet X

Anyone remember the mystery Planet X from when we were kids?

Redefining our solar system makes me think back to that. I find it terribly weird that they are going to call an asteroid a *planet.* I guess the really big eggheads want to mix it up. You ask me, they should have gone the other way and declared Pluto to not be a planet. That would be a bigger deal.

I guess our celestial neighborhood just got a little larger.

Iron Man

See the larger version on marvel.com

Iron Man could be Marvel’s next good superhero movie franchise. I’m very excited about Jon Favreau’s involvement. Interesting that this says it is in conjunction with Avi Arad’s new production company. I was just reading in this month’s Wizard that he signed a non-compete with Marvel, although he’s still working with them in an advisory capacity. They also had an article with Favreau on Iron Man. Check out Brian Michael Bendis’ column/interviews while you are there. He’s a fave.

Anyway, the poster alone looks better than that crap Ghost Rider trailer…

Black Floyd

Well, that takes care of that I guess. Floyd Landis’ “B” sample was found to have the same synthetic testosterone as his “A” sample. It’s a real shame that this has happened, especially since before this year’s Tour started a lot of the favorites were pulled due to a doping scandal.

I understand the doping we see in MLB and other professional sports where there is a lot of money on the line, but in professional cycling, are we really talking that much money? I don’t get it.

Now we’ll just wait to see if Floyd is stripped of his win, which he certainly should be.

About Last Night

I was bored sitting around the home-office during an application release for work, so I did some other stuff after writing the My Friend Flickr post. Now you have this little Aside to enlighten you some more.

I updated my About page to add my “plane struck by lightning” experience (surprised I forgot to add it originally since I seem to be a lightning rod) and another paragraph about school fun facts.

I also added a new Colophon page. Enjoy! (I sure did)
